Elmer Klassen
Elmer Klassen, 100, died Dec. 23, 2006, at Parkside Homes, Hillsboro.
Born Sept. 29, 1906, at Hillsboro, he was the son of Abraham and Anna (Goertz) Klassen.
On Sept. 29, 1933, he married Elda Plenert at Hillsboro. She died earlier this year.
He was a farmer and worked at the former AMPI, Hillsboro. He was a member of Trinity Mennonite Church.
Survivors include three sons, Dwaine Klassen of Wichita, Richard Klassen of Grand Junction, Colo., and Jay Klassen of Hillsboro; daughter, Joan Wilson of Olathe; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held this morning (Wednesday) at Trinity Mennonite Church, Hillsboro, with Pastor Tim Kliewer officiating.
Burial was in Johannestal Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.
Memorial funds have been established with Parkside Homes or Trinity Mennonite Church.
