Entertainment added to Whitewater Festival

Live entertainment along with a parade and car show, arts and crafts, and other events will be offered Oct. 2 during the ninth annual Whitewater Lions Club Fall Festival.

The morning's events begin with the 10 a.m. parade. A car show will take place on the city's Main Street.

Other events include the arts and crafts fair featuring a wide variety of gifts and products from more than 40 vendors from all across the state.

A carnival opens Friday night where youth can ride all they wish for one low price — Friday only. There also are kids' games sponsored by Swiss Church, pony and carriage rides, a petting zoo sponsored by Whitewater Memorial Library, and other activities.

Live entertainment taking place on the downtown stage will be a new addition to this year's festival. Area gymnasts, local musicians, polka and square dancers, and a magic show are some of the entertainment offered. That evening two Christian musicians, Steve Bowman and the group, Heaven to Earth, will perform.

More than $3,000 in prizes will be awarded in a raffle including two different vacation getaways — one to Branson and the other to Dallas.

Many different vendors will offer a variety of foods.

The American Legion will sponsor bingo and a street dance sponsored by CJ's will end the day.
