Farmers' market ends summer season
Staff writer
The last of the three Hillsboro farmers' markets this summer had three vendors. Melvin Schmidt was at the July farmers' market, but the other two vendors were new.
Ransom and Lillian Wiebe of Durham normally go to Abilene for the farmers' market there but decided to try Hillsboro. The Wiebes had zwiebach, cinnamon rolls, cantaloupe, tomatoes, potatoes, cucumbers, homemade pickles, and cheeses made on their son's farm.
Elvira Plett of Hillsboro and her husband were also new to the market selling lots of tomatoes, cucumbers, and zwiebach.
