First round sub-state loss ends Lady Warriors season

Peabody-Burns High School girls' basketball team's season came to close Monday with a first-round sub-state loss to number one seed Berean Academy. PBHS ended its season 4-17 after the 51-32 loss.
Elaina Newell put the Lady Warriors on the board with a basket from the perimeter. Jessi Hilliard and Traci Windsor each added a basket in the first quarter, but PBHS trailed 15-6 after one.
Hilliard added a basket and four free throws in the second period along with Jessica Gillet's basket, but Berean still led at the half, 24-17.
PBHS scored six more in the third quarter led by Hilliard with four. Newell added the other two points. Berean increased its lead to 42-20 by the end of the period.
PBHS scoring improved slightly in the fourth. Hilliard scored four more, Ashley Elliott had three, Newell and Windsor each had two, and Laura Hoffman added a free throw.
