Free services available for children

All Marion County children and students from birth to 21 years of age are eligible to receive educational services from Marion County Special Education Cooperative.

Comprehensive services are available to residents and usually are provided in their neighborhood schools.

If the needs of a student are met better at another school, the student is transported to that school at the expense of the school district.

Services include identification and evaluation, and instructional and therapeutic support to students with cognitive, social-emotional, motor, communications, vision, hearing, and learning needs. Services to gifted students are limited to those of school age.

There is no cost to parents of a child with special needs.

For more information, contact MCSEC at (620) 878-4720 or a neighborhood school.
