Friends of Richard Wall appreciate the support
Thanks to community
To the Editor:
The Friends of Richard Wall would like to thank all who contributed to our booth at the Marion County Fair which helped us raise $4,258 for the Wall family. We would also like to thank the more than 50 sponsors who donated merchandise and gift certificates to fill our baskets. Without these generous merchants and business people, we never could have had such a successful fund-raiser.
Also, we gratefully thank the Marion County Fair Board and Megan Kilgore for allowing us to set up in the commercial building on such short notice.
Now all we need from the community are prayers that the stem cell transplant be successful and Richard's health be restored.
Those who missed seeing us at the Marion County Fair and would like to contribute may do so to the Richard Wall Medical Fund in care of Emprise Bank, Hillsboro.
Thank you again for your generosity
Becky Lindsay and The Friends of Richard Wall
Postal service website offers convenience
To the Editor:
The Postal Service Web site, www.usps.com, delivers a wide variety of postal information and services for those who don't have time to go to the post office. Services range from buying stamps to finding zip codes. You can send cards and letters, purchase postage and print labels for packages, change your address (or get the forms), hold your mail, and calculate postage a11 from the comfort of your home or business.
A new feature is Click-N-Ship, the postal service's convenient online shipping service. Using Click-N-Ship, you can create and pay for shipping labels for Express Mail, Priority Mail, Global Express Mail and Global Express Guarenteed Service using your credit card. Click-N-Ship will calculate postage rates, find zip codes, and standardize and save addresses as well as all shipping history information.
A trip to www.usps.com will keep you dry on a rainy day and warm on a cold day. And while you shop online, remember that your letter carrier will be on the way with your mail, stopped by neither rain nor snow. They could even be delivering that commemorative framed artwork you purchased last week at The Postal Store on www.usps.com.
