Friesen, Thiessen marry in Hillsboro

Carissa Friesen and Anthony Thiessen, both of Hillsboro, were married May 17 at Hillsboro United Methodist Church with Rev. R. Laney Kuhn officiating the double-ring ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Wayne and Linda Friesen and Walter Thiessen and Pam Ratzlaff.

The bride, escorted by her father, wore a pearl colored two-piece Duchess satin gown that featured a strapless bodice detailed with crystals and beads that accented the asymmetric front drape. An A-line skirt with a blizzard of beads above the hemline wrapped around onto the sweep train.

She carried a bouquet of white peonies and satin ribbon.

Rebecca Soyez of Hillsboro was the matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Lindsey Suderman of Pittsburg, Adrianna Mater of Olathe, Nicole Jones of Hillsboro, and Lynnae Craft of Wichita.

Flower girl was Faye Lynn Smith of Michigan Town, Ind.

Best man was Phillip Thiessen of Hillsboro.

Groomsmen were Brian Funk of Lehigh, and Adam Kleiber, Jason Hamm, and C.J. Regier, all of Hillsboro.

Ring bearer was Jarret McLinden of Marion.

Ushers were Justin Friesen of Salina, and Jeff Soyez and Matt Jost, both of Hillsboro.

Organist was Kathy Decker of Hillsboro.

Lauren McLinden of Marion was in charge of the gifts.

The reception was held at the home of the bride's parents.

Kirby and Kathy Rector of Hillsboro and Ken and Gayleen Smith of Olathe served as the hosts and hostesses.

The bride is a graduate of Hillsboro High School and Hesston College. She is a registered nurse in McPherson.

The groom is also a graduate of Hillsboro High School and works at Excel in Hesston.

After a honeymoon trip to Alberta, Canada, the couple is at home in Hillsboro.
