Funks to celebrate 50th anniversary years ago
Roland and Vernetta Funk will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Nov. 24 at Hesston Inter-Mennonite Church.
Quartets will perform and a time for sharing will begin at 2:30 p.m.
Roland and Vernetta (Reimer) were married Nov. 27, 1952, in the Goessel Mennonite Church. The largest snowstorm in Kansas' history caused the wedding to be postponed for two days.
Their children are the late Rodney Funk, Bruce and Nancy Funk, and Clifton and Susan Funk. They also have four grandchildren.
The Funks owned and operated Mid-Kansas Propane for 28 years, and formed the Mid-Kansas Charter Bus Service.
The couple requests no gifts.
