GHS competes at state cross country

The Goessel High School boys' cross country team finished ninth out of 12 teams Saturday at the 1A state meet at Wamego Country Club.

Freshmen Laird Goertzen and Johnathan Berkholz, sophomores Jared Reimer, and Chad Wedel all picked the tough course to run their second fastest times for the season.

Anthony Esau came from the National FFA convention in Indianapolis to meet the team in Wamego.

Isaac Fast and Marius Schrewe rounded out the team for the Bluebirds.

Sophomores Kristin Hoffman and Lindsey Wedel represented the Bluebirds girls' team at the meet and came in 22nd and 48th respectively.

Johnathan Berkholz - 20:11, 15th.
