The Burrton Charger football team did not have as many players on the sideline as Goessel but were able to jump out to an early lead and dominate the Heart of America League game at Goessel on Friday night.

Burrton scored four touchdowns in the first quarter and held the Bluebirds without a first down for the whole quarter. At the quarter, the Chargers led 30-0 and scored again with nine minutes left in the second quarter.

Nicholas Peters gathered in a deflected pass from Garrett Hiebert for Goessel's first score. Burrton scored again with 4:10 to play in the half making the score 44-6 and intercepted a pass with four minutes to play, but the Bluebirds held on defense, preventing the Chargers from ending the game after two quarters.

It took Burrton twelve seconds to run the second half opening kick-off all the way back for a touchdown making the score 50-6.

Goessel drove the ball down the field only to be intercepted, to kill the drive. But the Bluebirds picked up a fumble on the next play and got as close as the five-yard line before turning the ball back to Burrton on fourth down.

The Chargers fumbled again and with three minutes to play in the third quarter, Hiebert was able to cross the goal line. Justin Fensky was successful in the extra point making the score 50-13.

The Chargers scored again in the fourth quarter but the extra point failed, and Fensky crossed the goal line one more time for the Bluebirds, making the final score 56-20. Goessel will travel to Tescott for Friday's football game.
