GHS squads place at Peabody, Sedgwick
The Goessel High School track team competed Tuesday in the Peabody meet held in Peabody.
Five schools competed at the meet. They were Burrton, Centre, Goessel, Little River, and Peabody.
The girls' track team placed third with a total of 74 points. The boys also placed third with 79 total points.
"We had some hard running workouts this week," said Coach Sandy Banman, "and I think we saw some results. We were happy with improvement in a lot of areas."
On April 9 in Hesston, the teams returned to Hesston for a five-team track meet hosted by Sedgwick.
The girls won third place behind Hesston who won first and Sedgwick won second, Peabody fourth and Canton fifth.
The boys won fourth place with Peabody winning first, Sedgwick second, Hesston third and Canton fifth.
"Sophomore Ben Goering had a nice jump in the pole vault at 11'6", said field coach Brian Stucky.
