GHS to send 21 events to state music festival years ago

Goessel High School's music department will send 21 events to the KSHSAA State 1A solo and ensemble festival April 30 in Wichita.

Vocal soloists and ensembles advancing to state are Janessa Wedel, Zach Plenert, Allison Banman, Kellen Jenkins, Brittany Voth, Kory Hiebert, Kyle Unruh, Ryan Goertzen, Nathan Amstutz, Elbiata, Girls Ensemble, and Boys Ensemble.

Instrumental solos and ensembles earning a superior rating are Janessa Wedel, clarinet; Kara Klassen, flute; Brittany Dirksen, trumpet; Adam Goering, trumpet; Kyle Unruh, trumpet; Scott Fergusen, tenor sax; Evan Fast, alto sax; Joylyn Hall, flute; brass choir; and flute ensemble.

Solos and ensembles receiving a two (excellent) rating were Clarinet Trio, Saxophone Trio, and Brianna Unrau, Sarah Unruh, Sara Sebring, Evan Fast, Felicia Goertzen, Adam Goering, and Caitlin Goertzen.

The students are under the direction of instrumental director Bud Meisel and vocal director Greg Bontrager.
