The Goessel High School boys' track and field team won the Tescott Invitational April 29 with a record — setting performance by Craig Banman in the pole vault.

Banman cleared 13 feet and now holds the meet record at Tescott.

Banman also scored firsts in the 300-meter hurdles and the 200m dash.

Freshman Johnathan Berkholz came in third in the 400m dash.

Distance runner Jared Reimer got fourth in the 1600, and fifth in the 3200.

Cameron Stultz earned fourth place in the 200m dash.

Grady Stultz earned a fourth-place finish in the 800m run, and Weston Hiebert earned two fifth-place finishes in the hurdle events.

Travis Fensky earned two fifth-place finishes in the sprints.

Every point was important, as the Bluebirds surpassed Pike Valley by seven points to win the meet.

Persistent strong winds on Friday caused the Remington track meet to cancel some of the events that would have been affected by the winds.
