Glenn Kurtenbach
Glenn V. Kurtenbach, 54, of Herington died July 23, 2002, at the Herington Municipal Hospital of an apparent heart attack.
Born April 6, 1948, at Wichita, he was the son of F. LeRoy and Agnes L. (Haslouer) Kurtenbach.
He was a rancher/farmer and a parts man for Herington Tractor. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Herington, the choir, church council, and a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He served eight years on the Herington school board, two years as president of Morris County Farm Bureau, and was a member of the Kansas Livestock Association. He enjoyed carpentry work and coaching baseball.
A 1966 graduate of Herington High School, he received a bachelor's degree in animal science and industry at Kansas State University in 1970. He married Barbara E. Gustason in Junction City on June 6, 1970. She survives.
He was preceded in death by his brother Randal and his father.
Survivors include his wife of the home; sons, Ryan and wife Melissa of Emporia, and Scott of Pilsen; mother, Agnes of Herington; and sister, Beth and husband Bob Speltz of Clay Center.
Funeral mass was given July 27 at St. John's Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Wesely officiating. Burial was at St. John's Cemetery.
