Goessel band receives highest ratings
The beautiful weather last Wednesday was an enjoyable day for Goessel students to attend the fair. Their purpose for going to the State Fair in Hutchinson was to perform during High School Band Day. Sixty-four bands played music in the Farm Bureau Arena in front of three judges.
"We received the highest ratings given by all three adjudicators," stated Bud Meisel, GHS instrumental instructor. He continued, "(The judges) comments were very complimentary concerning choice of music, tone quality, balance and blend, memorization and horn position. You name it, they liked it!"
Goessel's high school band includes forty nine members from all four grades. Schools can request whether they want to be judged in specific areas or just receive comments from the judges. This year's band results coincides with the tradition of past bands from Goessel.
