Goessel boys have momentum for regionals
Two league wins this past week helped the Goessel boys climb to a 9-1 record in the Heart of America League. The Bluebirds played Tuesday at Sedgwick to finish league play.
In a busy week of basketball this past week, the Bluebirds beat Ell-Saline, 58-45, Feb. 6. They lost Thursday to Flint Hills, in a game in which several Goessel players were down with the flu. The boys bounced back Friday to defeat Canton-Galva, 60-51.
The seven-team 1A regional tournament begins Monday at Olpe. The top two finishers there will advance to the sub-state tournament at Emporia or El Dorado.
