Goessel boys lose at Inman

The Goessel boys high school team, scored 18 points in the first quarter, but the problem was Inman connected for 23 points in the same quarter.
The Bluebirds tried to peck away at the deficit but came up short with a loss of 51-46 in Tuesday's Heart of America League action.
Although Goessel has played Moundridge, Canton-Galva and Trinity, this is the first game that has counted in the league standings.
Tyler Schroeder unloaded for 14 points, Jordan Voth made three three-pointers and ended with 11 points, Ryan Janzen eight, Garrett Hiebert six, Travis Buller four, and Justin Fensky three.
The record for the boys is now 0-1 in the league and 4-3 overall.
Girls have halftime lead but also lose to Inman
The Bluebirds led at half time 18-17 at Inman on Tuesday, but the Teutons held the Bluebirds to only two points in the fourth quarter for a 40-31 victory.
Goessel's senior guard Candice Bailey led the Bluebirds with 11 points, Kory Hiebert tossed in eight, Courtney Berkholz six points, Linessa Duerksen three, Kara Klassen two and Felicia Goertzen one point.
The boys and girls teams will play Moundridge, Trinity and Canton-Galva again later in the season for league standings.
The records for the girls, as they go into the Christmas break, are now 4-3 and 0-1 in the HOA league standings.
The next games for the Bluebirds will be Jan. 4 at Moundridge and then at home with Little River on Jan 7.
