The Goessel cross country team took 16 runners to Clearwater Aug. 31 for its first meet of the season, as Coach Greg Bontrager wanted to see which Bluebirds will run on the varsity in future races.
"This was beautiful weather for running," said Coach Bontrager. "Individuals have now established personal times that they will hope to improve on as the season progresses."
The Bluebirds run Thursday at Hesston, Sept. 14 at Peabody, Sept. 21 at Marion, and Sept. 28 at Harvey County East Lake.
At Clearwater, Coach Bontrager entered six juniors in the varsity event and six boys in the junior varsity race.
