Goessel drops game to Centre in districts

In the first game of Eight-Man District play, Goessel traveled to Centre and was punished by a score of 60-14. Centre racked up 319 yards rushing compared to Goessel's 56 yards.
The Bluebirds scored twice in the first quarter but could not answer the 36 points that Centre put on the scoreboard.
Tyler Huntley caught a two-yard pass, and Kelcy Voth gathered a 35-yard deflected pass for Goessel's only touchdowns. The Cougars scored 24 points in the second quarter, and the game was called at half time according to the 45-point rule. Ben Schmidt and Kelcy Voth led the Bluebirds with nine tackles.
Goessel will play Little River on Friday for the other district game on the schedule.
