Goessel FFCLA attends conference at Lyons
Twenty-three members of Goessel FCCLA attended the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America fall leadership academy Oct. 26 at Lyons High School. More than 400 students from the central and south central regions of Kansas attended.
The conference theme, in honor of FCCLA's birthday was "60 Years Strong, Where You Belong."
The District G officer team led the meeting and workshops were led by the Kansas Peer Education team, Kansas state officers, and Dr. Bill Richter.
Connie Hoch and Ann Eomsch from K-State Research and Extension, presented a comedy routine as clowns in promoting "Laughter and its Benefits." A group from Joplin, Mo., called "Leaders of the Pack" gave a theatrical performance incorporating important issues facing youth today.
Members learned new leadership skills, a different approach to facing youth problems, and enjoyed the entertainment. In closing, members were challenged to continue the FCCLA party throughout the year.
