Goessel girls hope to play Thursday
Even though the Goessel girls finished the regular season with a record of 8-12, they still are seeded fourth in the 1A regional tournament.
The Bluebirds will try to get past Burrton (7-13) in the first-round game and winners will advance to a Thursday night game at Olpe against the 20-0 home team.
The top two teams at the Olpe regional tournament will advance to sub-state play next week.
The Cardinals at Sedgwick were able to pull a victory away from the Bluebirds 30-29 in the final game of the regular season.
The Bluebirds' record during the regular season ended with a league record of 5-6.
