Goessel girls win three in a row
Argonia visited Goessel on Tuesday and the girls captured a win in the first game of the Peabody tournament. Goessel won 41-37 but had to come from behind in the fourth quarter.
Kory Hiebert led the team with 17 points. Candice Bailey scored 11; Courtney Berkholz, four; and Trenae Wilson and Felicia Goertzen, one point each.
The Bluebirds continued their winning ways against Peabody on Friday night 34-26 and then won their third game of the week on Saturday against Pretty Prairie by a 44-24 score. Three wins gave the Goessel girls first place in the Peabody tournament with Pretty Prairie second, Peabody third and Caldwell fourth.
The girls now post a 3-1 record and will play at Trinity on Tuesday and will host Canton-Galva this week Friday.
