The weather was gorgeous April 21 for golfing in southern Reno County, and the Bluebird golfers responded with a second-place finish at Pretty Prairie.
The team that practices on a course daily usually has the advantage over other teams that are not familiar with the course, and Pretty Prairie proved so, winning the tournament.
"As a team we played really well," GHS senior Cameron Voth said, "we only finished three strokes behind Pretty Prairie."
Nathan Ensz shot an outstanding 76 to take the individual first-place medal, but the rest of the Bluebirds were not far behind.
Tyler Schmidt and Voth each shot an 80 to take fifth and sixth place individually.
Senior Derek Brown came in with an 85, senior Jake Schrag finished with an 88, and sophomore Hayden Goerzen kept his score at 89 to help the team take second.
