Library to offer computer classes

Goessel Public Library is offering two free computer classes before Christmas.

The classes include a children's computer class, which opened Nov. 29 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Enrollment is limited to six. A "Using the Internet class" opens Dec. 5 and 6 from 1 to 2 p.m. A Web page programming class opens Dec. 12 and 13 from 1 to 2 p.m.

The computer classes are open to all ages. Class size is limited, so pre-enrollment is required. Contact Laura Dailey to enroll at the library at (620) 367-8440. Other computer classes will be created and scheduled upon interest. Call the library to request computer topics.

Fines canceled

with food donation

The Goessel Public Library is offering to forgive fines in exchange for an item for the local food pantry. This year the pantry is low on canned fruit. The library will give a forgiveness fine of $2 for every can of fruit brought to the library through Jan. 1, 2003. The offer is good for only existing fines, not for book replacement costs.

There are over 30 patrons with overdue fines.

Patrons can also bring in donations for the food pantry even though they don't have overdue fines.
