Goessel school board passes permanent local option budget

At its regular monthly meeting Monday night, the Goessel board of education voted to permanently establish a local option budget to fund USD 411. The resolution is published in today's issue on page 9.

Adopting the permanent LOB resolution ensures that the board won't have to keep renewing it in the future, said Superintendent Chet Roberts. The district's LOB rate is approximately 17 percent now, Roberts said.

The school board doesn't plan to raise that percentage. Goessel board members are committed to keeping the mill levy steady or even reducing it, Robert said.
