Goessel skate park nears completion
Goessel City Council met June 20 at Goessel Civic Center conference room.
Public works director Joe Base reported the dirt work was being done at the skate park and the 45x85-foot slab was scheduled to be poured.
Base also reported it would cost $5,330 to put water and sewer utilities in one block of the Voth Addition. No action was taken. City clerk Anita Goertzen will contact John Voth about selling some of the lots to the city and invite him to the next council meeting.
The council approved purchasing play equipment and safety surface from Children's Specialties, Inc. The five-year lease of $18,000 will be financed through Government Capitol Corporation.
The council approved $3,540 for Funk Electric to do electrical work at the park. All lines will be entrenched.
Council member James Wiens and Base will look at a plastic line used as a drainage pipe for sump pumps from three houses at the west edge of the park. The line is intended to channel water toward the creek but may be plugged.
