Goessel students to present holiday programs

Elementary Christmas program

is Monday

The Goessel Elementary School students will present their Christmas program Dec. 16. The program will be at 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Students in kindergarten through grades three will present an adaptation of "The Little Bell that Could Not Ring" by Donna Amorosia. The group will be under the direction of Marcia Brubaker and student teacher Carmen Goering.

The fourth through sixth grade and the fourth grade recorder ensemble will present Christmas choral pieces, under the direction of Greg Bontrager and Goering. Assisting in the instrumental descants are Amy Brubaker, Kaitlin Dailey, Anthony Esau, Fatima Hassan, Kristin Unruh, Laura Unruh, and Chrystiana Voth. Isaac Fast, Kristin Hoffman, and Austin Unruh will debut as student piano accompanists.

GHS concert

set for Thursday

The Goessel High School Music Department will present its Christmas concert at 7 p.m. on Dec. 19 in the GHS Auditorium.

The 60-member band under the baton of band director Bud Meisel will open the concert.

The 80-voice choir, as well as the select Elbiata Singers, under the direction of Greg Bontrager will then perform and close with the "Hallelujah" Chorus from Handel's Messiah.

Members of the audience are invited to come forward and join together with the choir for the 12th annual community "Hallelujah" Chorus sing.
