Coach Crysta Guhr was right when she predicted that newcomers would step right in and fill the gaps created by graduation from last year.
The Bluebirds traveled Tuesday to Remington and played the Broncos and Inman.
Goessel will be on their home court Saturday for the first time this season at their Round Robin Tournament.
In their first tournament of the season Aug. 29 in Lyons, the Bluebirds lost twice to Hillsboro, but defeated 1A Claflin and 3A Lyons.
The Bluebirds beat Claflin 25-16 and 25-21, and then played host school Lyons, winning 25-23 and 25-13.
The 2-1 start in Lyons pleased Coach Guhr. Senior Kory Hiebert led the team with 21 kills and nine blocks. Junior Katie Flaming was credited with 35 assists for the three matches and sophomore Rinda Duerksen connected on 25-of-26 serves, with one ace. Freshman Aspen Frey led the team with 20 digs for the night.
