Golfers take fourth at home
The Hillsboro High School golf team placed fourth in its Hillsboro Invitational Golf Tournament held April 8 at Hillsboro Municipal Golf Course.
Out of 10 teams competing, Hillsboro placed fourth in six-man, in four-man, and in two-man brackets, scoring 537, 363, and 174 respectively.
Marion won first place in six-man and four-man and Bennington in two-man.
Hillsboro senior Randy Klassen placed 12th out 60 players with a score of 83. Klassen was the Trojans' top finisher.
Individual results for the Trojans were Andrew Bina, 85; Ricky Johnson, 89; Lance Bartel, 86; Derek Hamm, 96; and Jordan Allen, 98.
Up next for the varsity team is the Collegiate invitational held May 1 in Wichita.
The junior varsity team has meets on Tuesday at Marion, and on April 22 at Hesston. Play begins at 3 p.m. for both meets.
