Gordon Wohlgemuth
Gordon C. Wohlgemuth, 84, died Dec. 16, 2002, at Wichita.
Born Dec. 331, 1917, near Hillsboro, he was the son of Frank and Mary (Schmidt) Wohlgemuth.
He married Margery Sparks on April 23, 1941, at Whitewater.
A farmer in the Benton area, he was a member of Palmyra Baptist Church, El Dorado Patmas Masonic Lodge, Yorkrite Bodies of El Dorado, and Midian Shrine of Wichita. He was a past master of Towanda Masonic Lodge and past district deputy grand master of Kansas.
Survivors include his wife, Margery, of Benton; a son, Jay Wohlgemuth of Benton; a brother, Milton Wohlgemuth of Towanda; and one grandchild, Lindsey Wohlgemuth of the U.S. Navy.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Palmyra Baptist Church, rural Benton, with Pastor Rick Woolward officiating. Burial was in Green Valley Cemetery, Furley.
A memorial fund has been established with Wichita Midian Shrine's Plane of Mercy.
