Greenwing event is Saturday at Marion Co. Lake
The third annual Sonny Wall Memorial Greenwing event will be held Saturday at Marion County Park and Lake.
The event will include laser shooting by the Kansas Hunter Safety program, first aid and safety lessons by Marion County first responders, dog training and demonstrations by Flint Hills Retrievers, bird identification by the Corps of Engineers, duck and goose calling demonstrations by South Dakota state champions, live fire of shotguns at clay pigeons provided by Kansas Wildlife & Parks, and an activity table for younger Greenwings.
A hot dog lunch and drawings for prizes also will be held.
The Sonny Wall Memorial helps offset expenses for the Greenwing event, sponsored by Marion County Ducks Unlimited.
There is a charge of $5 per child for the activity day. Greenwing memberships also are available for $5 the day of the event.
