Hamm among top winners at golf tourney
Rod Hamm of Hillsboro, and Doug Dick and Rex Ostmeyer, both of Marion, took home top prizes at the 2003 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Marion County third annual golf scramble June 28.
The event was held at Hillsboro Municipal Golf Course. Sixteen teams participated.
The golfers received goody bags with items donated by local sponsors. Many local businesses also gave door prizes for the participants.
First place received a Ping windshirt, second place received a Ping polo shirt, and third and fourth places received Ping hats. The last-place team received Approach sand wedges donated by St. Luke Hospital and Nursing Home.
Contest winners were Gene Winkler, closest to pin, Roger Fleming, longest drive, and Harold Schultz, longest putt. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Marion County program.
