Harold Plenert
Harold R. Plenert, 86, of Wichita, died Jan. 27, 2008.
Born April 2, 1922, near Hillsboro, he was the son of Albert and Olga Plenert.
He received a BA degree from Bethel College in 1948 and an MA degree in elementary education from Colorado State College of Education in 1955. He worked as a teacher, principal, and school psychologist for 40 years in public schools in South Dakota and Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Florine (Waltner) Plenert; and brother, Eugene Plenert.
Survivors include a son, Keith Plenert of Council Bluffs, Iowa; daughter, Connie White of Bel Aire; sister Anne Carrel of Allen, Texas; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Saturday morning at Lorraine Avenue Mennonite Church, Wichita.
Memorial funds have been established with the Lorraine Avenue Mennonite Church and the Education Fund of Peace and Social Justice Center of South Central Kansas.
