Harrison named Tabor College golf coach
Dan Harrison has been appointed head men's and women's golf coach at Tabor College.
Recently relocated from Haysville to Hillsboro, the Tabor graduate has coached at the high-school level for 15 years. He also spent four years as the head women's golf coach at Wichita State University where his team won one Missouri conference championship and he was named coach of the year in 1992. He has also been a member of the executive committee of the National Golf Coaches Association.
Harrison most recently served as counselor and varsity boys basketball and golf coach at Wichita's Campus High School from 1995 to 2004.
"Dan is extremely well qualified to step into our head golf coach position," said Don Brubacher, athletic director. "It is a great blessing to have him join our athletic department staff. I look forward to the strong leadership he will provide for the program."
Harrison's appointment is through a shared arrangement with Hesston College, where he will teach education and psychology.
Harrison also will serve as assistant Hillsboro High School boys' basketball coach under HHS Darrel Knoll for the 2003-04 season.
Dan and his wife Carol (Toews), who is also a Tabor graduate, moved to Hillsboro in June. She is a teacher in the Wichita Public Schools.
The couple has a son Patrick, who will be a senior at HHS this fall.
