Harvey Ratzlaff

Harvey E. Ratzlaff, 90, of Enid, Okla., died Oct. 27, 2007.

Born Aug. 27, 1917, at Newton, he was the son of Jonathan and Marie (Plenert) Ratzlaff.

He grew up in Hillsboro until the age of 11, then moved to Beaver County, Oklahoma in 1928.

On Nov. 28, 1940, he married Betty Schroeder. They had a dairy and farmed in the Balko community for several years, retiring in 1987. They moved to Enid, Okla., in June 2005.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Shelli.

Survivors include his wife, Betty of Enid, Okla.; two daughters, Jolene Carroll of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Sandra Hall of Denver, Colo.; two sons, Sherwin Ratzlaff of Enid, Okla., and Mike Ratzlaff of Tulsa, Okla.; two sisters, Irma Koop and Merlie Friesen, both of Hillsboro; a brother, Kermit Ratzlaff of Hillsboro; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Monday morning at Crossroads Bible Fellowship Church, Bryans Corner, Okla., with the Rev. James Epp officiating. Burial was in Balko Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Memorial funds have been established with Crossroads Bible Fellowship or Hospice Circle of Love in care of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home, PO Box 3501, Enid OK 73702.
