Hay valued at $4,000 is sold without permission years ago
Sometime between 10 a.m. Sept. 4 and 11:15 p.m. Sept. 17 individuals sold hay amounting to $4,000 without permission. The hay was property of Wes Rhodes, 407 170th, Hillsboro, and was taken from 1171 Chisholm Trail, Newton, reports Undersheriff Randal Brazil.
Between 3 and 6 a.m. Sept. 19, unknown persons came on the property of Gilbert Roy Mayes, 36 Lakeshore Drive, Marion, and took items without permission. A bug light valued at $20 and an extension cord valued at $10 were removed, reports Deputy Aaron Waddell.
Unknown individual attempted to enter First Mennonite Church of Burns between noon Sept. 17 and 11 a.m. Sept. 18. A door was damaged but the church was not entered. A shed on the property was damaged and entry was made. Nothing was taken, reports Deputy Waddell. Damage to the property was $250.
A driver was stopped for failure to dim headlights at 9:25 p.m. Sept. 21 on U.S.-56 and milepost 302. During the stop the driver passed field sobriety tests given by Deputy Waddell, but driver had no insurance and an open container of beer in the vehicle.
An individual removed money from a victim's room at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 18 at 2971 Sunflower, Lincolnville. The individual ran from the residence. Law enforcement asked individual to stop, but the person continued to run. The individual was taken into custody by Deputy Josh Whitwell after a short foot chase.
An unknown individual entered a home at 1625 Old Mill, Marion, sometime between 3 and 6 p.m. Sept. 9. A set of five master keys belonging to Nancy Marr, of the home, were taken. Deputy Mike Vineski states the keys are valued at $50.
Between 6 p.m. Sept. 21 and 9 a.m. Sept. 22, an individual drove a vehicle through the ditch and entered a corn field at N5, 5-20-4, Sunrise Road, causing damage to the plants. The corn, belonging to Mick W. Summervill, 1625 Turkey Creek, Marion, is valued at $150, reports Deputy Rollin Schmidt.
Between 3:30 and 5:50 p.m. Sept. 2, an individual broke a rear passenger side window of a vehicle belonging to Inge H. Nordstrum, 508 N. Lombard, Lincolnville. The vehicle was parked at the grocery store in Lincolnville, reports Deputy Vineski. The broken window is valued at $300.
An unknown individual gained entry to an office of Martin Marietta Aggregates at 1231 Yarrow, sometime between noon Sept. 18 and 8 a.m. Sept. 20, by breaking a bathroom window. When inside the individual took a box of ice cream from a freezer and looked through a file drawer, reports Deputy Vineski. The damages and theft are valued at $110.
Sometime between 11 p.m. Sept. 18 and 9 p.m. Sept. 19, an individual entered property at 26 Lakeshore Dr., Marion, and took a bug zapper. The stolen article, valued at $75, is property of Judith J. Priest, reports Deputy Vineski.
At 6 p.m. Sept. 20, two large dogs entered a pen at 2461 110th, Florence, and attacked and injured a goat. The goat is the property of Phoebe Janzen. Monetary injuries to the goat is $300, states Undersheriff Brazil.
Between 8:45 p.m. Sept. 15 and 6:55 a.m. Sept. 16, an individual entered a locked door at Agri-Producers, 205 Main, Tampa, by prying the door knob with pliers or channel lock-type tool. Approximately 25 coins were taken. Damages were $3.50 in coins and $75 to lock and door, reports Deputy Schmidt.
