Residents participated in exercise and singing on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. They also had an opportunity to go shopping.
We celebrated Cinco De Mayo Day May 5 with salsa and seven-layer dip made by Adella Katz who works in the special care unit. Piñatas and maracas were given to each resident.
Card players and risk manager/RT Ken Johnson played pitch Tuesday morning.
The Penner family came later in the morning to sing and play games with the residents. They also enjoyed listening to keyboard music by Gordon Eager.
In the afternoon, we played bingo.
John Ratzlaff came Wednesday to play the piano at the special care unit. He also stopped to visit and played for us as well.
The rain curtailed our travel plans so we played buddy bingo.
The men's bingo club met Thursday.
Hillsboro Elementary School second graders came to visit in the morning. We played volleyball with a balloon.
The women met in the afternoon for sewing club and began working on lap blankets.
Jane Vajnar came Friday to visit. We celebrated Maurine Martens' birthday with a coffee social and chocolate cake with vanilla frosting.
The Alexanderfeld group came that evening to perform for the residents.
