Helen Bostick
Helen G. Bostick, 84, of Manhattan died Aug. 28, 2002, at Mercy Health Center in Manhattan.
Born on March 24, 1918, at Alta Vista, she was the daughter of Henry and Pauline "Lena" (Boettcher) Merscham. She grew up in the Alta Vista and Alma areas and attended local schools. She had been a resident of Manhattan since 1934.
On March 22, 1941, she married Paul C. Bostick at Junction City. He died on Oct. 5, 1975.
She worked for many years in the housekeeping department at Kansas State University, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Manhattan Chapter No. 209, O.E.S., Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No. 2468, and Harmony Rebekah Lodge No. 689, all of Manhattan.
She was preceded in death by her husband; sister, Ellamae "Trudy" Gensinger; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include son, Henry C. Bostick of Manhattan; daughters, Marilyn Plus of Hillsboro and Carolyn Hale of Manhattan; sister, Ora Jean Glessner of Junction City; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.
Grave side services were held Sept. 3 at Sunset Cemetery in Manhattan with Rev. David Beese officiating. The burial included Easter Star committal services.
A memorial has been established with Shriner's Children's Hospital.
