HES carnival a success
The monetary totals aren't in yet, but according to elementary school principal Evan Yoder, Friday night's carnival was a success.
"I think it went very well, based on the joy factor," Yoder said. "From what I saw, the kids seemed to be having a good time."
Vince Nikkel, one of the organizers, was pleased with the event as well. "I didn't know what to expect, but it sure exceeded my expectations," he said.
The carnival was held at the Marion County Fairgrounds building and was going strong until close to 8:30 p.m. Each grade level had a booth, and the organizers hired Celebrations, a company out of Wichita, to bring in other booths, games, the tunnels of fun amazement, and the moon bounce inflatable play areas.
"It was a good family night," said Yoder. "It was run very well, and all the workers did a great job."
