HES observes 'Red Ribbon Week'

Hillsboro elementary students are celebrating Red Ribbon Week this week with various activities planned. The theme this year is "Work Together — Stay Drug Free."

On Monday, students and staff wore their red ribbons.

On Tuesday, students and staff wore crazy hats. Parents also came in and talked with different classes about their careers.

On Wednesday, HES site council members prepared healthy snacks for the students and passed the snacks out at the end of the day. The Drug-Free run was held at Reimer Field on the Tabor College campus.

On Thursday, the theme is "Help Others Day." Mike Moran will read the Red Ribbon Book during the health classes. He will discus the importance of helping one another.

On Friday, an assembly is planned for 8:45 a.m. The winners of the fourth grade poetry contest will read their poems. The winners of the fifth grade refusal skills contest will present their skits to the students and staff in the HES gymnasium.
