Hess, Hett marry in November ceremony

Natalie B. Hess of Hillsboro and Jerod L. Hett of Marion were united in marriage at 2 p.m. Nov. 29, 2003, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Marion. The Rev. Bill Sherfy officiated at the double ring ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Linda Hess of Hillsboro and the late Don Hess and Eldon and Rhonda Hett of Marion.

The groom's aunt, Joanne Lowen of Hillsboro, was organist. Matthew Krebs of Hillsboro was pianist and Amber Jons of Wichita was vocalist.

Candlelighters were Shawna Hett of Marion, sister of the groom, and Beth Schobert of Hillsboro.

The bride and groom walked down the aisle together. She wore a sleeveless matte ivory satin gown with a square halter neckline. Her A-line gown was highlighted with embroidered appliques and mini-pearls and featured a cathedral-length train. She carried a bouquet of white miniature calla lilies.

Mindi Svitak of Pilsen served her sister as matron of honor. She wore an A-line satin gown embellished with a beaded belt and chianti floor-length skirt. The ivory bodice featured a halter neckline. Bridesmaids were Tami Driggers of Lawrence and Susan Allee of Ulysses. They carried small bouquets of white mini calla lillies.

Phoebe Hett of Marion, cousin of the groom, was the flower girl. Dakota Stimpson of Pilsen, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.

Justin Hett of Wichita, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Josh Whitwell of Marion and Joe Box of Florence.

Ushers were Torey Hett of Marion, Logan Geis of Durham, Eddie Hett and Forrest Hett of Wichita, all cousins of the groom.

Krissy Hett of Wichita and Katie Hett of Marion, cousins of the groom, were guest book attendants.

Gift table attendants were Megan and Alysha O'Dell of Florence, cousins of the groom, and Ashleigh, Dylan, and Shelby Svitak of Pilsen, nieces and nephews of the bride.

A reception followed the ceremony at the church. Herb and Jenae Wiebe of Hope served as reception hosts. Reception attendants were Marlene Dyson of Huntington Beach, Calif., aunt of the bride; Michelle Hett of Marion, Debbie Geis of Durham, Janet Plank and Jean Hett, both of Wichita, and Brenda Clouse of Smithville, Mo., all aunts of the groom.

For their honeymoon the couple traveled to South Beach in Miami, Fla., and enjoyed a cruise to Nassau and the Bahamas.

The bride is a graduate of Canton-Galva High School and Tabor College in Hillsboro where she majored in psychology and sociology. She is employed by Marion County Special Education Co-op and Prairie View, Inc., in Marion.

The groom is a graduate of Marion High School and attended Washburn University. He is employed by Catlin Creek Builders in Marion.

The couple is at home in rural Marion.
