HHS forensics team places fourth at league

The Hillsboro High School forensics team competed at the MCAA League Tournament held Monday at Marion.

Hillsboro placed fourth out of 11 teams competing.

Individuals placing at the tournament include the following: Interpretive events — Kelli Just, first place in poetry; Speaking events — Emily Bebemeyer, sixth place in informative; and Acting events — Allison Kunkel, second place in serious solo; Karl Magnuson and Robert Jost, fifth place in IDAs.

Other students competing at the league tournament included: Gina Andrews in oral interpretation of prose and poetry; Bebermeyer in informative speaking and duet acting; Brian Bostic in extemporaneous speaking; Danielle Hagen in oral interpretation of prose; Jost in oration and improvised duet acting; Just in oral interpretation of poetry and duet acting; Wade Kimbrel in duet acting; Kunkel in dramatic solo acting, duet acting; Magnuson in improvised duet acting; Alisa Prior in improvised duet acting; Emily Railsback in oration and improvised duet acting; Dana Suderman in oral interpretation of poetry; Jenny Whisenhunt in oral interpretation of prose; and Diana Wright in extemporaneous speaking.

Meredith Kliewer, Whitney Allen, and Kari Roble helped facilitate the tournaments.

Those students who have already qualified for state competition are Bebermeyer, Bostic, Hagen, Jost, Just, Kliewer, Kunkel, Magnuson, Prior, Railsback, Suderman, Thomas VanWart, Whisenhunt, and Wright.
