HHS tennis team struggles at Conway Springs

The Hillsboro High School boys tennis team traveled to Conway Springs April 1 to compete in the boys' tennis quad meet.

Teams competing were Conway Springs, Circle, South Barber, and Hillsboro.

"We knew going there that we were a very young team," head coach Kory Unruh said. "We hope to continue to improve throughout the season."

Conway Springs placed first with 30, South Barber placed second with 20, Circle placed third with eight, and Hillsboro placed fourth with two.

Results of the varsity quad meet were: No. 1 singles — Macy Fadenrecht, lost 8-2 to South Barber; lost 8-0 to Conway Springs; 8-7 to Circle.

No. 1 doubles — Wade Kimbrel and Peter Fast, lost 8-1 to South Barber; 8-2 to Conway Springs; lost 8-2 to Circle.

No. 2 singles — Adam Dirks, lost 8-0 to South Barber; lost 8-0 to Conway Springs; lost 8-1 to Circle.

No. 2 doubles — Justin Hein and Robert Jost, lost 8-5 to South Barber; lost 8-5 to Conway Springs; lost 8-5 to Circle.

The team played Smoky Valley Tuesday at Lindsborg and will host the Trojan Invitational today at 3 p.m. at the sports complex.
