HHS tennis teams finish third and eighth

The Hillsboro High School tennis team had two teams compete in the Hillsboro Tennis Invitational on Monday. The gold team finished third out of eight teams; and the red team finished eighth.
Kyle Kroeker, number one singles on the gold team, defeated Ramon of Neodesha, defeated Humphries of Trinity, and lost to Spotts of Independent, to finish second.
Robert Jost, number one singles on the red team, lost to Spotts of Independent, lost to Johnson of Collegiate, and defeated Geist of Fairfield, to finish seventh.
Michael Fisher, red number one in two singles, lost to Liechty of Hesston, defeated Montford of Fairfield, and lost to Kimbrel of Hillsboro, finishing sixth.
Wade Kimbrel, gold number two in number two singles, lost to Ichikura of Neodesha, drew a bye, defeated Fisher of Hillsboro, to finish fifth.
The number one red doubles team of Caleb Barkman and Adam Dirks lost to Hesston, lost to Neodesha, and drew a bye, to finish seventh.
The number one gold doubles team of Macy Fadenrecht and Justin Hein defeated Neodesha, defeated Hesston, and lost to Collegiate, to finish second.
The number two red doubles team of Tyler Krich and Michael Bosworth defeated Hesston, lost to Independent, and lost to Fairfield, finishing eighth.
The number two gold doubles team of Luke Lilly and Peter Fast defeated Fairfield, lost to Trinity, and lost to Hesston, to finish fourth.
The tennis team will play May 17 at regional competition.
