HHS varsity boys win against Ellinwood
The Hillsboro High School boys' varsity basketball team defeated the Ellinwood Eagles Tuesday night at home, 59-35.
"In the first quarter we shot well and were able to build a decent lead," head coach Darrel Knoll said.
Hillsboro led going into the half-time, 26-15.

Leading the way in scoring for the Trojans were Daniel Deckert with a game high 16 points, followed by Eric Weinbrenner with 14.
"Weinbrenner was back for the first time and play pretty well, scoring 14 points," Knoll said.
The team shot 55 percent and was 16-of-29 from the two-range. They were 12-of-13 from the free-throw line for 92 percent.
The team snatched down 23 rebounds and had 11 steals.
Deckert led the team in rebounds with six, and he had four steals, along with teammate Derek Hamm who also had four.
Other scorers were Tyler Peachey with six points, D. Hamm and Lucas Hamm with five points each, Caleb Marsh and Kyle Jilka with three each, and Michael Bookless with two.
Because of the 30-point rule, the running clock was instituted in the fourth quarter.
"We had a solid game all around," Knoll said. "It was a good effort all the way around."
The Trojans travel Friday night to Lyons. Game time is 8 p.m.
