HHS volleyball team wins at home

The Hillsboro High School varsity volleyball team managed to bounce back this week and defeat Smoky Valley in both of their matches on the HHS home court.

In the first match, Hillsboro defeated Smoky Valley 25-18 in the first game, Smoky Valley came back in the second game and won 25-11. In the third game, the Trojans won 15-11.

Senior Jessica Ratzloff led in serves making 14 of 14. Juniors Amy Duerksen and Emily Ratzlaff served nine of 10 with two aces and nine of nine, respectively.

Freshman JuliAnne Chisholm led in attacks making 10 of 14 and two kills. She was followed by Ratzlaff who was nine of 14 and two kills.

In the second match, Hillsboro won both games 25-17, 25-15.

Seniors Ratzloff and Alisa Prior led in serves. Ratzloff was 11 of 12 with three aces, and Prior was nine of nine.

Chisholm and Ratzlaff led in the attacks making six of 12 and five kills and seven of 11 and two kills, respectively.

The Trojans will be at home Sept. 30. Game time is 5 p.m.
