Hiebert's 44 points leadds state in scoring years ago
No other high school basketball player in Kansas scored more points in games played Dec. 5 than Goessel senior Garrett Hiebert.
According to statistics kept by the Wichita Eagle, Hiebert's 44 points in the Bluebird's 84-79 victory over Oxford was the top scoring performance in the state.
The Goessel gym nets were no doubt burning, as Oxford's Conner Hampton scored 30 points in that game, tying him for as the sixth-highest point scorer overall.
In a correction to the school's calendar, the Goessel boys' and girls' basketball teams will play Friday at home against Hutchinson Trinity.
