Hillsboro FFA competes at livestock judging contest
Members of the Hillsboro FFA chapter participated April 9 in the South Central District Livestock Judging event at Hutchinson Community College.
Members evaluated eight classes of livestock consisting of cattle, sheep, and hogs.
Ethan Frantz placed second in the Greenhand division.
In the senior division, Ty Goossen placed first overall with a score of 522 out of a possible 550. He also had the high individual reasons score.
The senior team of Goossen, Alex Jost, Jacob Fish, and Brea Allen placed fourth.
In the invitational event, Frantz placed third. Goossen was fourth, and the senior team was ninth.
The next event for the livestock judging team will be the state competition in May at Manhattan.
