Hillsboro hosts regional golf
The Hillsboro Municipal Golf Course was the setting on Monday for the 3A Regional Golf Tournament. Nine teams competed in the event.
Host Hillsboro struggled during the tournament, coming in last with a four-man team score of 400. Wichita Collegiate took first place in the four-man team with 312, while Hesston took second with 315 and Wichita Independent took third with 322.
Independent's Dodge Kemmer took first place in individual results, shooting 70. Cheney's Zac Potter took second with 72, and Collegiate's Clark Carnahan took third with 72.
Hillsboro's highest scorer was Ryan Fields, who shot 93 on the course. Lance Bartel shot 96, Randy Klassen 102, Billy Winegarner 109, Jordan Allen 116, and Mike Fisher 122.
