Hillsboro hosts state tennis tournament
The 3-2-1A boys' state tennis tournament was held in Hillsboro Friday and Saturday.
Sophomore Kyle Kroeker, representing HHS in singles, was defeated by Ille of Ellinwood and Kempke of Claflin.
Senior Justin Hein and sophomore Macy Fadenrecht competed in doubles, losing to Kirmer and Klein of Claflin and Deimund and Kliewer of Cimmaron.
Conway Springs took first place; Kansas City Christian, second; Kiowa-South Barber, third.
In singles, Dylan Gatton from Kansas City Christian won first place, and Brandon Ewert of Kansas City Christian, second.
Joel Forester and Heath Shelite of Kiowa South-Barber took first in doubles, with Kade Kirmer and Josh Klein of Claflin finishing second.
